Daniele obtained the MSc in Chemistry at Università degli Studi di Milano in 2015 under the supervision of Prof. Cesare Gennari. He then pursued doctoral studies in catalysis for organic synthesis under the supervision of Prof. Clement Mazet at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He obtained his PhD in 2019 with a thesis titled “1,3-Dienes and Alkenes as Platforms for Selective Transition Metal Catalysis”. He remained in the same group as postdoctoral research associate, working on catalysis for olefin polymerization, in collaboration with Prof. Christophe Thomas, Chimie ParisTech, France.

In 2020, he was awarded a Swiss NSF Postdoctoral Mobility Fellowship to join the group of Prof. Varinder K. Aggarwal at the University of Bristol, UK. There, he focused on novel strategies for natural product synthesis and structural elucidation using organoboron chemistry. In Bristol, he also collaborated with Prof. Timothy Gallagher on the medicinal chemistry of nicotinic receptors.

In 2023, he joined the BiocatLab at Politecnico di Milano as Junior Assistant Professor within the Agritech PNRR network. In 2025, he was granted the Italian Science Foundation Starting Grant by the Ministry of University and Research to develop his independent research program.
