Claudio earned his MSc in Industrial Chemistry with honours from the Università degli Studi di Milano in October 2025. During his Master’s thesis, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Maurizio Benaglia, he investigated the electrochemical activation of alcohol derivatives to generate C-centred radicals. His work aimed to develop a metal-free version of the Minisci reaction for aza-arenes.
Since February 2026, he is a PhD student in the group within the FIS Starting Grant project in the research group. His doctoral research focuses on the synergistic combination of photocatalysis and biocatalysis to achieve "new-to-nature" transformations.
Outside the lab, Claudio enjoys sports and outdoor activities. He is a former competitive track and field athlete with experience competing at national championships and currently plays on a local volleyball team.
